Marshawn Lynch’s Encounter With Fan Takes a Beastmode Turn, Ends In Altercation

According to TMZ Sports, Seattle Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch found himself in the spotlight again after an altercation with a fan outside a Seattle bar over the weekend. The incident involved Lynch allegedly smashing a fan’s phone, providing a dramatic scene in downtown Seattle on New Year’s Eve.

Jose Lozano, a fan of the Seattle Seahawks football team, recounted the incident to TMZ Sports, stating that he initially tried to take a photo with Lynch inside Xtadium bar but was denied by Lynch’s entourage. Undeterred, Lozano approached Marshawn Lynch outside the bar around 1:30 AM, attempting one final photo request.

Video footage shows Lozano addressing Lynch, who was wearing a Beastmode sweatshirt, with the fan yelling, “Marshawn! Beastmode! Let me take a –.” Suddenly, the footage cuts off as it appears Lynch lunges at Lozano’s phone.

Lozano recounted that once the camera ceased recording, Lynch purportedly seized his phone, venting his frustration by declaring, “Y’all mother f***ers are weird.” Allegedly, Lynch proceeded to inflict damage on the device using his hands. Lozano managed to recover the broken phone just before Lynch departed the scene.

Although Lozano, an avid fan, admitted that he didn’t realize his recently purchased iPhone 14 was damaged until several minutes later, he clarified that he has no plans to involve law enforcement, emphasizing his allegiance to Lynch. Despite his loyalty, Lozano expressed his disappointment, stating that he wished Lynch hadn’t displayed such apparent rudeness in the encounter.

Lynch has a history of being accused of responding unfavorably to fans’ phones, with a notable incident in 2017 where he was accused of knocking a phone out of a man’s hands at LAX airport. Since concluding his NFL career in the 2019 season, Lynch has taken on a new role as a contributor to Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” coverage. The recent altercation is just another instance in Lynch’s track record of unconventional interactions with fans.
