There is no record to date when humankind started consuming liquor as part of a celebration but according to National Geographic, spirits have long been a part of ancient societies. Holiday parties are no exception—not to mention a drink or fine bottle of spirits can serve to pour into the holiday cheer and even as a holiday gift. Add a Black-owned liquor brand to the equation and it’s a present the recipient can’t refuse. This rum grew out of Trinidad of Trinidad and comes with a story about the complex history of rum and its ties to the Caribbean.
